Smart Trap Quick Start Guide

Follow these steps before deploying your DTN Smart Trap in the field.

  1. Charge your trap by plugging the charger into the DTN Smart Trap’s charge port and twisting the collar. When the unit is fully charged all LEDs will turn. After charging, close the charge port cover securely.
  2. Proceed to account set up while the trap is charging. Log in to your DTN AP account at https://ap.dtn.com. If you have not created a grower and field, create them now.
  3. Navigate to the field where you want to add your DTN Smart Trap.
  4. Add your trap by clicking on the Traps button at the top right, then click + DTN Trap in the left sidebar. A list of traps assigned to your account will appear. Select the correct trap serial number and click Select.
  5. Position you trap by dragging it to the correct location on the map. Click Done to place the trap.
  6. Enter trap details including the trap name and the target insect you intend to trap.

Once the trap is fully charged (may take up to 24 hours) and your account is setup, the trap is ready to deploy in the field.

Follow these steps after you charge and set up your DTN Smart Trap online.

  1. Add a sticky pad and a pheromone lure.
  2. Turn trap on by pressing the power button for three seconds. The first LED will light up green when the trap is on and red when the trap is off.
  3. Verify the signal strength by watching the trap’s LEDs. A few moments after turning the trap on, the green LEDs will chase back and forth while the trap tries to reach a signal. This could take a few minutes. When it connects, one, two or three lights will blink to indicate signal strength. When the LEDs remain solid the trap has completed the connection. The LEDs will turn off once the process is complete.

NOTE: If the trap is unable to connect, try relocating to an area with a stronger signal. Turn it off and on to repeat the process.

  1. Hang up the trap in the desired location using the provided chain and hook.
